well to run from xterm you keep hitting esc till it ask you if you want to exit mythtv. You say yes. At that point you will have a purple screen. You click on the screen then click on xterm. This will pop up an xterm. then you run

mythfrontend

As for the color problems are you talking about everything on the screen or just the osd?

When you've got color tv, use test_ioctl to see what input the card is set to. Then when you see grey live tv, check again and see if it is different. On my pvr250, input 0 gives me grey tv, input 8 gives me color.

kt7a, isn't this a Via chipset based board? If so, Via and IvyTV don't play nice all the time...Try a different slot.

i do have some new questions
1) live tv is a bit fuzzy, is there a way to fix that?

2) how do i install an additional hd? i am running a wd 40g.. want to add a deststar 120gxp.

3) where is this hue setting that was mentioned?

4) i heard a rumor that you can watch live tv in one window while scrolling channels in another... is this true?

depends on what you call fuzzy. might be a fine tune problem that can be resolved through mythweb. http://ipofmythbox from any other computer on the network

might want to look into lvm at any rate search the board there are several topics about this with multiple solutions, so I won't whaste too much space here.

if you hit the F key while playing livetv or watching a recording you can scroll through several options keep hitting F till you get the one you want and change it using the arrow keys.

If F doesn't get you an OSD then you need to go into setup general and check the box for use XV color controls.

yes while watching livetv hit the M key and the live show will get small and go the the top right corner and the program guide will be on the botom. Hit M agian to change to the channel you are on or esc to exit without changing channels.
