Hi, I will be setting up a knoppmyth soon and would like to know if my tv tuner configuration will work. I currently have a oem pvr250 and an avermedia m179. Will both of these be recognized by default?

I also plan on eventually adding the pchdtv card. Are there plans to add support for this tuner in the future?

thanks

well the pvr250 will be recognized by default, but not the m179 because it requires a patched version of ivtv. At some point in the future the patch is supposed to be rolled back into the main ivtv driver, and I'm sure knoppmyth will include it when it happens. That is not to say that you cant use the M179 with knoppmyth you will just have to get the patched version of the ivtv driver and compile it.

As for pchdtv I can't say if support is planned for that in knoppmyth or not, as I am not one of the project developers, but I'm sure if anyone gets one and figures out how to incorporate it into knoppmyth the devs would be happy to include their controbutions.

Both cards will be recognized! However the M179 requires a patch in order for the audio to work. You can find a link to the patch on the IvyTV wiki.
