I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes" but I wanted to ask before I bought anything expensive.

Anyway, I have a PVR-250 for recording and am currently using the TV-out on my GF4 (on-board). I'd like to add a 2nd tuner and am thinking that a PVR-350 would be good as it would give me the 2nd tuner and also (hopefully) better TV-out.

But, I wanted to ensure that the TV-out on the PVR-350 works completely independantly of any recording. Thus, I'd be able to play a show from the HD while recording a show on the 350 and another on the 250.

Like I said, it would seem silly if the 350 did not work this way, but I've also run across such questionable designs in my life. Plus, the ivtv/etc. comes-into play and could affect the simultaneous functionality.

Anyone with a working 350 out there who can answer this for sure?

Thanks,
Mike

You might be a little too optimistic.

I have currently some problems regarding this.
If I extracted all informations (myth and ivtv lists) right
there are some issues with the ivtv driver.

- recording stops when trying to watch it
- sometimes recording without sound

This happens here with one PVR 350.
It might work well if you record on one card
and use TV-Out on the other.

Me an optimist? LOL
TV out is independent of recording. As to whether or not it works that is the question. My personal recommendation is to skip the 350 and just use a video card w/ TV out.

TV out works fine on my setup, but I have heard of racing conditions on faster hardware, making the box crash.

I run mythtv on an amd k6-II 333 mhz w/ 256 megs of sdram.
no probs except for sluggishness in certain situations where the cpu is maxed out. (this is usually worst with mythgallery and browsing recordings, but its not so bad I cant live with it til I get my hands on a better system)
