Hi,
i was trrying to make a temporary mythtv frontend w/ an amd k6-2 500mhz system. unfortunately, whenever I try to run anything mythtv, I get 'Illegal instruction.' MY guess is that this is de to the optmizations utilized during compilation. Am i correct?

you would probably be correct, but there is an i586 script that you could run that should install the i586 version which should run fine on the k6-2 Just take a look at the instructions.
