Post subject:  Geforce 2 Card for TV out?

Will an Asus Geforce 2 Deluxe work well for the tv out? I see that most people are using Geforce 4 MX 440 boards. Is there any particular reason for this? Thanks.

I'm using an Nvidiia GeForce 2 MX400 for tv out. It's decent for my use. It's definitely not the best, but works fine for watching videos, etc. The only gripe I have is that text can be hard to read at smaller font sizes (on xterms, console, etc), but it is readable. For the price, it works fine.

Yes, it will work. If I remember correctly, TVOutOverscan will only work w/ Geforce 4 on up...

So if I don't have TVOutOverscan, then will I have a black outlline around the picture?

nvtv and TVOutOverscan are two different things.

yes untill the gf4mx and newer you had to use nvtv a seperate utility not written by nvidia, and yes it has overscan settings and alot more. as of the gf4mx you can use the tvoverscan option in the XF86Config-4 file (see the nvidia readme for more info) and I know at one point nvtv would not work with the gf4mx and newer, but they may have fixed that now.
