I am not yet very familiar with Lighttpd (have used Apache for years and htdigest). Following Martian's suggestions in the forum ( http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... tpd+secure ), I have basic security running on Mythweb. My issue is that for several functions (music, for example) one is challenged repeatedly for a login and password.

So if I go to mythweb (I am properly challenged here), music, browse, select an artist, then a song to play, I am challenged for a login and password again - twice. Have I missed something? How do I eliminate the additional challenges? I have read the docs at the lighttpd site and can find little on a question like this.

Have you tried multiple browsers? Also, what are you cookie settings?

I have tried this on a linux box (Firefox), Windows XP, and Windows 7 all with "accept cookies" on and all with similar results - the only minor difference is that some challenged only one additional time. It is as if anything below the root (in this case "mythweb") requires re-authentication...
