I sped up my Samba transfers from 1.3MB/s to ~ 5MB/s by changing the socket options line below:

#       socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192
socket options = TCP_NODELAY

I just tried that and did a read... about 80Mb/s on a 100base-T download speed with about 20-30Mb/s upload speed.

About the same as it was.
