Hello friends and family
I found this cool add-on for firefox that checks and updates flash automatically. It's called Flash-Aid https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... flash-aid/
Mozilla currently has the newest version.
Here is the rub I do not have the stock Firefox installed on my LinHES box I went out and got Firefox 4 when it came out. Flash-Aid works fine for me with two small tweaks, but I don't know If I am unique. Could someone else try this add-on out and confirm if it works or not.

There are only two tweaks discussed by me and the author here http://support.webgapps.org/add-ons/flash-aid
You need to put about:config in the address bar and then search for
Code:
flashaid
then look for
Code:
extensions.flashaid.depoverride

and set it to true. I had to override my dependencies or it wouldn't give me the advanced options. You can try it without this and see if it works for you.

The second is necessary since this add-on was made for Ubuntu it is looking in the wrong place for xterm. Right click on the flash-aid button on the taskbar and select preferences, you will need to put
Code:
/usr/bin/xterm
in to the box labeled Terminal Path.

There are also some addtional options for enabling vdpau and overriding GPU validation which apparently was crashing my LinHES box when I put Youtube in fullscreen.

Thanks
MattBatt

Thnaks for the great tip. It worked for me with my stock up-to-date system. I can now watch hulu again and various other sites that require the latest flash.
:D
