bobmyth,
your imon is the same one I have on one of my frontends. It is in an Antec Fusion Black. I have all the config files you need for that. While there are several versions of the ffdc device there is a good chance it is the same as mine. If so it uses the RC-6 protocol. Also the lcd just needs some tweaking in /etc/LCDd.conf to add in the imon driver and correct /dev/lcd? device. See your old LCDd.conf as a reference.

I also started the Remote Device Architecture overview which may help you out. It is my first pass and I need to review it and clean it up but it will give you a leg up. Any comments on the content or structure should be posted in: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=22489

Quick update. I tried getting my Hauppauge silver working. I tried:
  • /usr/MythVantage/templates/remotes/hauppauge-grey
  • /usr/MythVantage/templates/remotes/hauppauge-grey-alt
  • /usr/MythVantage/templates/remotes/hauppauge-silver
  • /usr/MythVantage/templates/remotes/mceusb

My using an include statement in my /etc/lirc/lircd.conf file. The best I could do was get the 3 and 4 buttons to work:
Code:
0000000000001783 00 3 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001783 00 3_UP Hauppauge_350
0000000000001783 00 3 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001783 00 3_UP Hauppauge_350
0000000000001784 00 4 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001784 00 4_UP Hauppauge_350

Will look further.

I followed the "How I learned to stop worrying" guide and made some progress, but still don't have a working irw.

I created my own keycode table for my Hauppauge silver remote. Even better, then I use ir-keytable with the test option I get the correct keys. Then I ran my lircd command:
Code:
/usr/sbin/lircd -H devinput -r -n -d /dev/input/by-id/usb-Topseed_eHome_Infrared_Transceiver_TS000JM3-event-if00 --output /var/run/lirc/lircd

and then irw in a different window. I did not see any key presses from irw though. Suggestions?

Hi bobmyth,
did you follow the suggestions in http://linhes.org/projects/linhes/wiki/ ... tomization?
Specifically the entries:
Lirc: http://linhes.org/projects/linhes/wiki/ ... ation#LIRC
and
irw http://linhes.org/projects/linhes/wiki/ ... zation#irw

I think it will help you debug this.

The obvious questions are:
1) Does your lircd.conf match the output of irkeytable -t? Specifically the numerical output.
2) Why do you think you need to use devinput as the interface as opposed to /dev/lirc0? I also think devinput is correct but worth double checking.
