I have an underpowered FE that I have a Sparkle GEForce 8400 GS and it uses VDPAU and worked well. Up until I upgraded to 7.3 today and now it bombs when trying to play anything with a "Failed to initialize video output" error. If I change the video config to "Slim" I can play DVD rips, but no HD as the CPU wont keep up. Go back to "VDPAU SLIM" and the error message. It's like it's not using the GPU at all.

I don't see much in the Xorg log.

Any help in troubleshooting this would be appreciated.

Alright, I had to use this post as a guide to upgrade my nvidia drivers (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-295.59.run). It was very strange, a conflict or something, but once I downloaded the new package and followed the post it worked like a charm.
