MythWeather not working under R6

Post subject:  MythWeather not working under R6
Well I did some searching but can't seem to figure out what is going on. When I fire up MythWeather all I get is the background screen with absolutely no information.

Hitting the menu button brings me to the menu screen and I have selected my location (FWA - Fort Wayne International Airport) for all sources but still nothing.

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong or where I should start looking would be greatly appreciated!

Also, does anyone know if it's possible to get the radar working in R6. I really miss that feature.

Martian,

I did some investigating of this, and it appears to be a bug in one of the scripts, the fix for which hasn't made it into the LinHES repositories yet.

Interesting - Do you have any details? Also, do you know if a flyspray ticket has been opened for it?

If not I'll open one but I'd like to be a little more descriptive than "uh, it's broke..."

Does this help? I don't know. Never been able to figure out how one set of code gets migrated to the other platform. No LinHES developers are having any discussion in any forums that I can find, so I can't tell you if they're aware of this or not.

I applied the patches found in MythTV SVN and tried to re-run MythWeather. It stays on the retrieving weather data screen and shows the following in the log:

I find that the only one not working currently is the Current Conditions. When i go to MythWeather I get a blank screen. If you hit the left button on the control to go to the next one it bring sup the next menu. So in summation:

1) The first screen is always blank
2) Current Conditions doesn't seem to come up no matter what order you put it in.

This is under R6.

Anyone else see this?

I fixed this by using a solution posted on the ubuntu forums to edit the nwsxm.pl script located in /usr/share/mythtv/mythweather/scripts/

Apparently if your weather source doesn't fill in all the proper blanks, the nwsxml.pl script hangs for current conditions. I think this is why it isn't being seen by everybody. I imagine that around the major cities they report all the data, but I am in Eastern NC.

One thing that almost prevented me from realizing I had solved the problem is that I had to restart the frontend after I changed the script for the changes to take effect. I almost switched back to the old script after my edits appeared to fail the first time.

Made the change to nwsxml.pl and restarted the frontend but still nothing in Mythweather. Even tried restarting the box. Still no dice!

Glad it worked for some but Mythweather is still broke for me :(

I just upgraded to R6 restored my backup files (from r5.5) went into the MythFrontend area for Settings of Weather and configured it. Now both in the Frontend and in MythWeb weather shows up. So basically I didnt do anything but go into the appropriate areas for weather configure them and they work.
