Ooops, sorry. I just upgraded to R6 a couple of weeks ago and opened the flyspray. I forgot all about this thread, otherwise I would have posted something here earlier.

No worries Allen.
It's ok. All in all I'm just glad I stumbled on your flyspray post.
-I was only slightly mad at you for a few minutes,(joking) but the fact it works again is more than compensation.

Not exactly sure when this broke for me, but I'm now running R6.02.

I've been following this thread, looking at the scripts in the /usr/LH/bin folder and reading http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/ACPI_Wakeup.

The comments in the scripts in /usr/LH/bin don't mention using the "T" notation for time format, the mythtv wiki does.

The test script works perfectly for me.

But, I can't get the Mythwelcome to restart my pc. If I run mythwelcome-set-alarm.sh manually, I too get the "****" in the alrm_date field indicating a date/time in the past.

Is there an R6 / Myth 0.22 definitive guide anywhere?

There is a flyspray to fix the comments in the script. I think it has recently been submitted, so you should see it soon.

Mythwelcome-set-alarm.sh has to use a different time format because of the way mythshutdown works. Mythwelcome-test-wakeup.sh calls it directly, and since it worked for you, this part is okay.

The best way to test the other settings is to set the wakeup time format to "yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss" then schedule a program and let mythwelcome shutdown.

Note that you must use the "T" and the ":ss" now in the time format.

If it doesn't work, take a look at /var/log/wake_alarm.

If you don't want to keep scheduling a show, you could also try:

/usr/bin/mythshutdown --setwakeup $time
/usr/bin/mythshutdown --shutdown

Where $time is "yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss". This is what mythbackend calls. Note the first command does NOT set the RTC wakeup. You must call both commands for it to be set. The computer will shutdown on the second call.
