My FE machine looks just fine when in the GUI (i.e. menu colors are normal, color balance is normal etc.). When I go to playback either a video (mplayer) or a captured show (internal player) the resulting picture looks tinted green.

Symptoms:
-Green tint while watching fullscreen video (mplayer avi or captured MPEG-2)
-Mythtv GUI looks normal
-Little show preview in lower right of GUI has normal color

Currently using the nvidia drivers from the stable repos (185.x) but will try the 190.42 drivers. Does anyone have some ideas?

Hardware: Athlon XP system using an 8400GS via HDMI to a Samsung HDTV.

EDIT: After upgrading to the 190.42 drivers from [testing] the mplayer tint is totally gone and playback looks normal. I found that somehow the tint got dropped to 0 % so I adjusted it to 50 % and everything looks normal now.

(To get to tint start a playback and hit the F key several time, then use arrow keys to adjust the value.)

I had a similar problem by the description. I noticed that if I went into the nvidia-settings and set the picture controls (brightness, contrast, hue) to defaults that the picture would be good until I closed a recording and opened another. Then I went into mythtv setup and under Setup>TV settings>Playback I unchecked "Enable picture controls" on the first screen and all was well. No driver update required.

This probably means that you have bogus settings in the DB for the picture controls. Start with the following entries in the settings table:
    - PlaybackBrightness
    - PlaybackContrast
    - PlaybackColour
    - PlaybackHue

Especially the last one.
