I started and upgrade to 6.03.00 but unfortunately I started it from a ssh session. When I got to the message about opening a Xterm I realized I needed to be on a the myth box so I did a control C and restarted the process on the the box.

After the moving to the myth box I got a message after MYthtv wanted to upgrade the database and I answered yes to that.

No if I try to run the "sudo upgrade_linhes.sh" again I get the following messages

Sync'n with the repos....

No upgrades found. This could mean the repository is busy.
Or your system is already up to date.
If you have not upgrade, please try again later.
Starting the backend.

So the question is Did it really finish the upgrade or not?

Thanks ...

I did basically the same thing with similar result. For me it certainly did NOT upgrade and now I'm stuck.

After reading your post, I checked the System status page and it say that the Mythfrontend Version is release-0-23 fixes (24896) so I guess it must have finished.

Martian you ought to give it a try now with the R6.03 upgrade, it might just fix your problem of being in limbo.

Is there a R6.03 release thread somewhere that I'm missing? I keep seeing people post about it but I don't see a thread in "announcements". Am I blind or am I missing something?

I haven't seen a tread about it either but on the home page http://www.mysettopbox.tv/

I'm happy to announce that LinHES 6.03.00 is available for download! LinHES 6.03.00 includes MythTV 0.23-fixes and many other fixes! If you are running an earlier release of LinHES to upgrade, simply:

sudo pacman -Sy linhes-scripts
sudo upgrade_linhes.sh

If you are still running KnoppMyth and want upgrade to LinHES, I recommend you first backup and upgrade to LinHES 6.01.00. This is because both, use the same version of MythTV. You can then perform the above to get you to the latest LinHES and MythTV 0.23.

Thanks to mihanson, we have torrents up for the ISO and USBstick! MD5Sums are:

USBStick:96b2e23a4161c12c25f486eb6361fbe3

This is the same for the images from the FTP as well.

Martian, if it's any consolation I did exactly the same thing. I rarely check the home page for announcements -- I usually check here instead -- so I missed it too.

I never updated my bookmarks from the old Knoppmyth page. Just used to seeing a thread in the "announcements" forum. Hopefully I can try the 6.03 upgrade tonight.

It would be nice if Cecil added a warning to the upgrade script that says

"Do not run this script via an ssh connection"

Just a thought.

At the point you got the xterm message, the script had already updated all packages via pacman and had initiated mythbackend to start the database schema updates. Unless you rebooted this should have completed.

The only thing of significance that may have been missed is that for 0.23 and after the schema update you need to run mythfrontend on the backend server in order to update the plugins.

You can read through the script by executing:
Code:
less `which upgrade_linhes.sh`

Thanks for the update.
It is a combo frontend backend.
I did reboot and received the message that the database needed to be upgraded, I said yes to that message.
So hopefully all is well.
