I switch the tv input to my Linhes DVR input and all that was showing was a yellow screen. This system has been working for some time now after the upgrade to 6.03.

I decided to do a restart, now the system just hangs at 100%. Hitting F2 for verbose mode, the last line on the screen is states "Parent Daemon Running".

Taking a look at the Xorg.0.log I notice an (EE) that wasn't there before.
Code:
(EE) config/hal: couldn't initialise context: (null) ((null))

Xorg.0.log can be found here: http://pastebin.com/Zwr6sxrT

Thinking something was a miss with my xorg.conf, I backed up the current and copied the xorg.conf.install in its place. The same results. Last thing I remember doing before this happened was trying to find the share directory screen in Linhes Configuration under the Service Menu (http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21178)

I have noticed that when entering some of the Linhes Config screens and exiting out, without making changes, things have been changed on me. Network settings, sound settings, display settings. But that is another issue.

Any suggestions?

Looking through a few more log files (thank goodness webmin still works, easier to check/copy/paste all logs) pacman.log has the following on the same day things went weird.
Code:
[2010-06-30 07:32] upgraded nvidia-96xx-utils (96.43.16-1 -> 96.43.16-1)
[2010-06-30 07:32] In order to use the new nvidia module, exit Xserver and unload it manually.
[2010-06-30 07:32] upgraded nvidia-96xx (96.43.16-1 -> 96.43.16-1)
[2010-06-30 07:32] upgraded nvidia-96xx-utils (96.43.16-1 -> 96.43.16-1)
[2010-06-30 07:32] upgraded nvidia-96xx (96.43.16-1 -> 96.43.16-1)

Back when I upgraded the system to 6.04, on 06/13/10, pacman installed nvidia-utils version 96.43.09.1 and nvidia 96.43.09-5
Code:
[2010-06-13 11:04] upgraded nvidia-96xx-utils (96.43.09-1 -> 96.43.09-1)
[2010-06-13 11:04] In order to use the new nvidia module, exit Xserver and unload it manually.
[2010-06-13 11:04] upgraded nvidia-96xx (96.43.09-5 -> 96.43.09-5)

Not sure if this is the kicker, but it seems like the only thing that has changed since the upgrade. Could there be something wrong with the latest nvidia drives?

Good thing for backups. I moved the backend/frontend system to a different room. Upon startup "other" things began to error.

I finally decided to just reinstall/upgrade the system. Now it works like a champ. Now I just have to reconnect the new frontend to the relocated backend.[/url]
