A few questions as I am migrating from R5.5 to LINHES and still climbing the learning curve on the changes: 1. I use RealVNC to remove view my mythtv desktop. I can run "x11vnc" manually from a putty window but would like to have to run automatically at boot time. What's the best way to do this in LINHES? 2. I do not see the LINHES "service" menu anywhere in the front end -- where do I find it? I'm concerned that it may not have been installed for some reason when I did the install for the CD. Perhaps it has something to do with the ugprade? 3. Under R5.5 I used anacron to ensure that my cronjobs would run properly. (I shutdown my system when its not needed.) What's the equivalent of anacron in LINHES? Thanks. |

Hi From the Main Menu\Service Menu\Linhes Configuration It's right between Mythtv Configuration and Backup Linhes I'm pretty sure anacron will work fine you in Linhes Check out this post https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=62875 Graysky asked for this VNC feature in Flyspray about 1 year ago http://www.linhes.org/bugs/issues/573 |

Yes it's at the main menu, if you can't see it I would guess permissions issue. Try running the frontend as root and see if it appears for you... |

service menu problem solved as son as I went into the "Appearance" menu and set the menu theme to default... Still not sure about anacron -- I've tried pacman -S anacron and its not in the repositories... |

People out there must be using the shutdown routines, but without something equivalent to anacron the various cron jobs aren't guaranteed to run properly... I winder if LINHES addresses this issue out of the box. |
