Hey guys - when I play video right now I am getting a small box in the center of the screen surrounded by black. Is there anything I can look for to fix this? I've played with a lot of settings in the GENERAL and LINHES settings menus and with nvidia-settings, but I can't seem to get the video full screen again. Here is a picture of what it looks like:

Here is my xorg.conf

Which mode does your X server say it's using?
Code:
grep "Setting mode" /var/log/Xorg.0.log

My tv does that If I send it 720p instead of 1080. Is it everything including the menus or just video. There is a setting to adjust the zoom of video files automatically. Service Menu-> MythTV configuration-> Setup-> TV Settings-> Playback page 2 I have mine set to Video aspect Overide "off" and Zoom: "auto Detect (default off)". This setting will fix leterboxed content broadcast on a 4:3 channel (pillar boxed).

Mattbatt has a good point, if your TV is a 1080i/p model and you send it a lower resolution signal (close to 720p here) it may letter box it depending on the settings.

The real key is to send it the best signal it can take and your video card can send. Most decent flat panels connected via HDMI, DVI or the like will provide good mode data to the X server which should let it fill the screen at it's best native resolution. The X log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) will tell you what that information is, and if you post it we can help you interpret it.
