I thinking about upgrading to 6.04. Looks like most of the problems have been resolved, but I have a question.

Can the pacman -Syu be run from an ssh session or does it need to be run directly on the box?

Thanks Tim

Ran the update today. Worked like a charm.

My thanks to all the developers that made the upgrade smooth and painless.

Just a couple of notes for those that upgrade. The BIGest problem I ran into was with my HDhomerun.

If you are using an HDhomerun you need to you have it configured using the Device ID and NOT by IP address to avoid recording problems with version 0.24 of mythtv.

Basically it will always go to the first tuner when it starts to record, if you have another program scheduled during that time you will loose the rest of the first recording when the second one starts.
http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewto ... 8b45aedd20

I have also have seen another problem mythweb. The first time you go from a Program listing the details page to select it to record you get the following error

Code:
Warning at /data/srv/httpd/htdocs/mythweb/modules/tv/detail.php, line 310:
!!NoTrans: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()!!

The data on the page is stacked. One box on top of the other. Once you select the schedule option and "update recording schedule" button the page displays correctly and the error go away and things work normal.

This issue is very minor but it may be realated to another php problem that shows up if your running Zoneminder.

When you start the console you get this several messages this is the first one:
Code:
Warning: strftime() [function.strftime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EDT/-4.0/DST' instead in /data/srv/httpd/htdocs/zm/zm_html_view_console.php on line 89

I had to uncomment line 638 of the php.ini and add

America/Detroit after

date.timezone =

That fixes the msgs in Zoneminder

I am running Firefox 4

I just upgraded from R6.03 to R6.04. Mythweb was broke but easily fixed with the directions in this thread.

The LinHES Service Menu also no longer works. Previous posters alluded to it being fixed in an update, but it is still broken for me. Does anyone know what the fix is?

Well, I re-read the thread. I guess I was seeing things. No mention of the service menu being fixed in 6.04.

Pretty painless upgrade from 6.03 yesterday :D

Only really needed the mythweb fix that was kindly spelt out earlier.

I notice higher bitrate DTS passthrough (tested with 1536 Kbps) is crackly/choppy, but I see it mentioned as a mythtv problem when googling. Works 100% via mplayer though so not a huge issue.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I grabbed the ttf-liberation pkg from archlinux and used pacman -U to install it locally, since it's only a font it didn't seem too naughty. Fixed all the missing font stuff in my mythfrontend.log anyway.

So I am considering jumping over the edge and attempting an upgrade is there a LinHES services menu or not and what happened to those settings if there isn't?
