Is anyone else having issues with font sizes in the menus and OSD displays? Text is often way small or so big you can't see it all within the allotted area. Issue persists across multiple themes.

I did the upgrade a few days ago and also got tripped up over mythweb problems, but got those fixed.

However, after the upgrade, I wasn't able to access my tuner cards. I have a HDHomeRun box and 2 DVB PCI cards (air2PC if I remember correctly). All of them are over the air, no cable.

So, I did a did a "delete all tuners", and then configured them again. I then went into mythweb status, and it showed duplicates of all the tuners, for a total of 8, instead of the 4 that I should have. I tried deleting them all a second time, and configuring them again, and got the same results.

I then decided to run some tests, and set up 5 shows to record at the same time, and it only picked the actual tuners that worked, ignoring the ones that were not there and only allowing 4 recordings at once. I thought great, I can live with this, but then realized that recordings often stop after about 4 minutes. Some complete fine, others just end. It isn't a weak signal problem. And I can't see any pattern to why some are good, and others end after 4 to 5 minutes.

Is there some way to surgically clean up the configuration part of the database? I tried a backup/restore (after the fact!), and that didn't change anything.

I will admit, that I have done a few updates to the system that had reported errors, (but it has always generally worked after poking around a bit).

System:
E8400/Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R
HDHomeRun and 2 DVB Air2PC

Are you sure you don't have "Virtual Tuners" set up? The HDHomerun (and other ATSC tuners) have the ability to record multiple shows on the same muticast digital channel. Myth handles this by setting up additional "virtual" tuners on each physical tuner.

Martin, good catch, yes, I do have virtual tuners set.

That explains why I see 2 tuners listed for each physical tuner hardware. But, that doesn't explain why my recordings often end after 4 minutes (or sometimes don't record at all, getting a zero length recording file that shows up as a file size of "B"). I in my earlier post, I didn't add that I also get these zero length files.

I went looking for a logfile for the backend, but it seems to be turned off. Suggestions on the easiest way to turn on the backend log? (best options to use/where to specify it). I realize I should be able to dig this up, but it seems easier to ask it here right now.

/var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log

It's hidden in a "mythtv" folder. At least it is on my box. Hope this helps.

I did a bit more poking around, but have yet to make any serious progress. The backend log in /var/log/mythtv was old, and I don't think it defaults to creating a log file.

I did run the backend with "-v important" and it doesn't report any errors or messages around the time the recording (or watching live TV) stops. Attempting the same thing with "-v most" results in boatloads of messages, and there were a bunch of EITHelper messages as it stopped as it was doing an EIT Passive scan, but nothing that jumps out at me.

I am tied up till Sunday, and hopefully I will find some pattern to the failure then.

I did set the tuners to only do single stream, and that did solve my confusion as to why the tuners showed up twice. No effect on the recordings or live tv stopping after a few minutes

Well

I ran the 6.04 update tonight. It ran fine and mentioned something about php.ini So Mythweb is broken, to fix it...

xedit

Code:
/etc/php/php.ini

inside the file change the path for line Line532 to say

Code:
extension_dir = "/usr/lib/php/modules"

Shutdown the system and then resart it, Mythweb will work again

Update seems pretty smooth so far. I tested Live TV, Video in Storage Groups.

So far, so good. Almost everything seems to work well for me with 0.24. I had to apply the Mythweb fix above and now it works.

I noticed that Miro and Mythstream are not working. Miro is no big deal for me, but I will miss Mythstream as I use it daily. It appears that minimyth has posted some patches that make Mythstream work with 0.24.

Anybody game to recompile Mythstream again! I am afraid that this is beyond my expertise.

Thanks for work and upgrade to 0.24 in LinHES6 branch ... I think you mean the repos core / extra ... before I upgrade my old working system I have a short question?

What about that conflict message? Why remove mythmovies?

I'm getting an odd message after the most recent set of updates:
Code:
[root@black2 ~]# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
warning: mythtv-contrib: local (0.23-7) is newer than extra (0.23-6)
 local database is up to date

Did mythtv-contrib get rolled back to an earlier version?
