Post subject: | Diskless Frontend Nova_T remote problem (Solved) |
Guys, I have just rebuild my main Master BE/FE box using R6.03.00 and got everything working ok. Some issues with Nova-T remote but I figured it out searching the forums. Interestingly the default Nova_T lirc files don't work for me, but my old R5F1 files do work, so I over-wrote the config files and sorted it. I have now built a new Diskless Frontend for the bedroom. Everything works except the Nova-T remote. (I have a 2nd remote for the bedroom). Using "irrecord" I created new "lircd.conf" and "lircrc" files. These respond correctly using IRW and mode2 giving all the correct key-codes, but no matter what I do I cannot get the remote to work on the LinHES Frontend. "dmesg" gives the usual error about "setserial" :- lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, major 61 lirc_serial: port 03f8 already in use lirc_serial: use 'setserial /dev/ttySX uart none' lirc_serial: or compile the serial port driver as module and lirc_serial: make sure this module is loaded first lirc_serial: auto-detected active low receiver lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0 I checked the lirc run script and it looks ok to me. Shouldn't this script do the "setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none" for me ? Perhaps my xorg.conf needs tweaking ? I can't find what I need to change. Any ideas appreciated. Pete |

I finally figured it out. Just in case anybody else has this problem, the solution was so simple. In the "Service / MythTV Configuration / General" menu, I forgot to edit the "Lirc Daemon Socket" on the last page. Updated it to "/dev/lircd" and the remote started working. ![]() Pete |
