Post subject:  Random lockups when watching recordings

I have been using Knoppmyth/LinHES for many years without issues. I recently reinstalled my system with LinHES 7.1. Every since I upgraded I have random lock-ups while I am watching recordings. At first there were segfaults so I tried to change the NVIDIA drivers which got rid of the segfaults but didn't stop the frozen playback. Recently I noticed that there were new Nvidia drivers in pacman (290.10-2) so I upgraded but still have the same lockup/frozen playback issues. I have changed the playback method to CPU+ CPU++ and CPU-- but all the same issue.

I have searched through the logs in /var/log/mythtv but see nothing there that coincides with the lock-ups.

Please let me know what path I can take to try to figure this out.

Thanks

When it "Hangs" have you tried to ssh into it?

I have had a similar problem with 7.1 as well. I my case ssh doesn't work so my only option is to hit the reset button.

Yes I am still able to SSH in. I am also able to press atl-x and get a terminal window.
