I have been running X in twinview mode for years. Up until the 7.2 release, I have had no issues. Now, with a reboot, my second monitor (Samsung LCD TV) comes up as disabled. I have to re-enable it (nvidia-settings) and things are fine.

I was curious this weekend (had some time - raining here today), so I threw an extra drive in my machine and rebuilt from scratch. Works fine with 7.1... not fresh 7.2.

Anybody else seeing this (recognizing that use of twinview is rare...)?

Is the tv on when you reboot?

Yes - the system sees it; it just disables it. All I have to do is re-enable... The odd thing is that X seems to ignore xorg.cong settings for the second monitor. I can make changes to xorg.conf (ex. image location) and it ignores it. The nvidia-settings screen resets to disabled... the xorg.conf file is still correct (even with changes that i may have made before the reboot...). Additionally, if I disconnect the first monitor (computer monitor) then the TV comes up fine...

I had similar problems with 7.2 and svideo output not stick through a reboot. Found I had to modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-automv.conf instead of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. There are a few other config files you can look at in that dir if that one doesn't fix it.

Thanks goofee... This fixed the problem. I have searched other forums for this problem and have found nothing. I have looked for a change to NFS noted on the NFS blogs - again, nothing.

For others, I took the "monitor", "device", and "sceen" sections from xorg.conf and replaced those sections in 20-automv.conf.
