I have had problems with /dev/sda1 being full and removed acpid, because it produced a large (600+GB file).

Quote:
[root@mythtv ~]# pacman -Rs acpid
checking dependencies...
Remove (1): acpid-1.0.8-2
Total Removed Size: 0.09 MB
Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n] (1/1) removing acpid [###################################################] 100%

Obersvation: The hard drive continuously makes writing sounds, which indicates that some process is writing and sda1 is full again.

Symptom: at bootup the UI prompts for preferred language, sequences through the "Database Configuration" settings and returns a message window: "Cannot login to Database?"

Any suggestionswould be appreciated, I would like to avoid wiping and starting from scratch again.
