I am having an odd problem with mthwelcome. When I exit the frontend, all I get is the bluish background screen. I've tried alt-tab but there is no other app running. The annoying work around is to hit Alt+x and then exit the terminal window. Then mythwelcome appears. Whether or not I see it, it still functions. IOW, the box shuts down and restarts when it's supposed to for the next recording. If I hit enter on the keyboard or OK on the remote, the frontend will start so mythwelcome is there. I just can not see it. Any ideas? I am using 7.4 and hardware is:

gigabyte ga-g41m-es2l MB
nvidia GT320 PCIE 16 (using vga out)
hauppauge dcr2650
explorer 4642hdc via firewire

I just noticed that if I execute my workaround, restart the frontend, and exit again I see the mythwelcome screen. Where does it hide on the first exit?

Same problem here. I am using mythbuntu theme. I have briefly looked through the logs, but I haven't found anything promising yet. It isn't the biggest problem in the world, but my wife notices.

I also have the same problem on my test machine but it showed up when I tried to access the backend setup using (Alt S). The problem was not there two days ago. Version LinHES 7.2 (Scale 10x), MythTV theme LinHES.1024.768 . I do have the automatic updates turned on (all) and I am using mythwelcome also.

I have this working now. I my case it was a theme problem. I switched from MythCenter-wide 1.6 to Mythbuntu 25.30 and it started working. Go figure.
