What generates /var/log/func/audit.log? I am getting a log entry every 5 minutes that makes no sense to me...

2012-10-09 22:16:38,159 - 127.0.0.1 None-CA-KEY 1589702459 test.add called with ('1', '2')
2012-10-09 22:16:38,233 - 127.0.0.1 None-CA-KEY 1589702459 pacman.pkgversion called with ('mythtv',)
2012-10-09 22:21:39,096 - 127.0.0.1 None-CA-KEY 1589702459 test.add called with ('1', '2')
2012-10-09 22:21:39,172 - 127.0.0.1 None-CA-KEY 1589702459 pacman.pkgversion called with ('mythtv',)

Does anybody know what this is or how to stop it?

It's generated by func as an audit trail of how it's used.
func gets called every 5 minutes by xymon to test that the mythversion match and that func works.

Thanks... Does the log rotate? It seems to be filling up and getting quite large... Can I turn it off?

I believe this is for certificate management and, since I don't need certs, can I not remove/disable func ( sv stop/start/restart funcd doesn't work)?

Well your wrong, it has nothing to do with certificate management :)
func is used by the supplemental web site and in r8 has become more entwined.

It's your system if you want to remove it go ahead, nothing fundamental will break but some things will stop working.
The most visible thing to stop working is the control interface for each host..and some tests in xymon will go red.

Thanks for the reply - I'm just looking for a way to stop the log files from filling. I get errors with the logorate script.

I'll just change the permissions on the audit file to read only until R8 is out...
