So I was browsing my "Pretty" folder and noticed that a bunch of stuff from Christmas time is in the folder but isn't listed in MythTV. I went through and deleted the Christmas Specials (and some other random crap that I found) from the "Pretty" folder. I dove into my TV folder, sorted by date and found some more stuff that should have been deleted. I can see that these are items I did "bulk" deletes on For example we didn't watch this season of the Voice so I deleted every episode from the watch recordings or the delete videos section. I found two so far in the TV folder. Could this be my culprit?
Three things
1) This explains why my hard drive seemed to be shrinking!
2) Other than watching every video in my 2 TV folders is there an automated way to compare with the database and delete video files that should be gone?
3) Is anyone else experiencing this or am I unique
4) "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition" :-)
My Sig has my hardware/software info

thanks,
MattBatt

As I recall find_orphans.py should take care of that for you.

That's what I thought but isn't it scheduled to run once a week by default or something like that?

I'm pretty sure it was meant to be run manually. You have to tell it to what you want to do with the orphans that it finds.
But it's a great program to help clean things up with the actual files and the database.
Hope that helped.
