Wanted to see if there were any new packages available so ran

pacman -Syu and recieved the following:

error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from bits.linhes.org : Connection time-out
error: failed to update core (download library error)

 extra is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...


No errors in the pacman.log but looks like it can't sync the core I looked in

and the file does exist.

Have done several pulls prior to this to add uninstall software, but this is the first time I've seen this error.

Ran this again today and it's working correctly. Have no idea why.

You might have caught it during an update.
When that occurs the core.db file is removed and recreated.
