I am seeing what seems to be a random segfault in my R8 frontend machines. It is totally random and occurs (usually) while I am not using the system. This morning I noticed the screen flicker, went to the LinHES splash screen and then reloaded. Error in log:

kernel: [53927.822576] mythfrontend[10253]: segfault at 1dfb480 ip 0000000001dfb480 sp 00007f9e7f64bb48 error 15

I have found this on each of my R8 machines - none of my 7.4 frontend machines... Does anybody have a clue?

Thanks. Jenks

These frontend segfaults are increasing in frequency - Now I see error 14 and error 15 happening every 3 or 4 hours and on each of my R8 frontend machines (3). My 7.4 machines (2) have no problems...

Anybody else seeing these problems? Logs show no other events before or after...

Found the issue... I noticed that the faults occurred on (or very close to) a consistent time (on an hour or 30 minute - like 10:00:12 or 02:30:01) so I assumed it was related to a scheduled event. I searched the logs to see what was happening at or about the same times...

It turns out the MythWeather was updating at all the same times as the faults. The faults, however, were not necessarily happening every time MythWeather was updating... Anyway, I just removed MythWeather (pacman -R MythWeather - never used it anyway) and the segfaults ended.
