Post subject:  Updated way to export to ipod (e.g. mythexport)

I've been trying to get mythexport working on R7.4 without much luck. I followed the instructions on ... t_for_iPod as well as I could (since they were written for R6) and also found that I needed to run the .sql script in /usr/share/mythtv/mythexport.sql in order to create the mythexport_job_queue table. The thing I'm stuck on is that when I run mythexport-daemon, I see in /var/log/mythtv/mythexport.log that it can't find ''. I found in /usr/share/nuvexport/export/ffmpeg/ and created a symlink to it in /usr/share/mythexport/ (which is in @INC), but now I get another require error when perl tries to load that file.

At this point, I'm thinking that mythexport isn't working too well in R7.4, but I still like to transcode recordings onto my portable devices for offline viewing, so I'm wondering if there are any recommended replacements for doing this. (I haven't been able to carve out a weekend to do the upgrade to R8, but if the feedback is that everything is working again in R8, I'll go that route.)
