Post subject:  LinHES 8.1 shutdown hang

When trying to do a shutdown and reboot I get the following messages near the end of the shutdown process.

Code:
Rebooting
wall: can't open temporary file: Read-only file system
init: fatal: unable to create /etc/runit/stopit: read-only file system
-runit: warning child failed: /etc/runit/3
-runit: eave stage: /etc/runit/3
-runit: sending KILL signal to all processes...
-runit: system reboot.
[603205.178556] INFO: task runit:29085 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
[605205.178675 "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_taks_timeout_secs" disables this message.

After that the last two lines repeats every 120 seconds ... The only way out is to use the system reset button.

This was also happening with version 8.0 before upgrading to 8.1

Any suggestions?

Thanks

At the end of the message

What this means is fairly explicit: the kernel couldn't schedule the task for 120 seconds. This indicates resource starvation, often around disk access...

When this happens there is no disk activity at all.
