I cannot get sound out of my Apple Trailers. I confirm that I can get audio from youtube videos in Chrome but nothing in the trailers.

Can anyone suggest where I begin to look?

Apple Trailers uses mplayer so you will need /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf with something like:
Code:
ao=alsa:device=hw=1.7
ac=hwac3,hwdts,

Got it sorted.

I was playing with /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf and was not getting any joy. I checked my remote front end that was working fine and found that it did not have a mplayer.conf file.

This then got me thinking about a configuration in the user context. Checked my remote front end and in the /home/mythtv/.mplayer/ directory there was a config file, fortunately it was empty apart from a comment. This lead me to my main front end and I renamed my mplayer.conf and found in my /home/mythtv/.mplayer/config that I had an audio out statement except it was going to the wrong device.

I simply commented out the line and it is all working now.

In summary there is no need to have a /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf or /home/mythtv/.mplayer/config files unless something is not working.

Thanks brfransen for your assistance, my WAF just got a whole lot better.

Cheers
