I can't get this to work, and it's been awhile since I've setup a new MythTV system. I just moved, so I setup a new source on my Schedules Direct account. It seems like I should just be able to select the new listing and get the channels automatically. Scanning seems to work well enough, but that's a bit of a pain since I'm not sure if it will automatically align the listing data with the scanned channels. So, is there some way to get this working?

Of course it does. It just only works for channels that exist as a
single number, such as analog cable, or digital cable when used with a
virtual channel table. You're trying to access ATSC channels, which
means a physical channel and a stream ID. MythTV is not able to pull
both of these values, along with the handful of other necessary
settings, from Schedules Direct at this time.

Looks like it doesn't work for ATSC or anything with sub channels

I believe when you do the scan it will get the call letters and can automatically assign XMLID. It gets rough with QAM.

I've found the easiest way to figure out what channels you "really want in your lineup" is to plug the cable into your TV let it do it's channel scan.

It find will let you see all the channels, sub channel that you might want to keep. Many are lower resolution dupes that you don't want anyway.

Or just accept all of the discovered ATSC channels and ignore the rest.

Thanks. I guess I just forgot how I did this last time. I got it working by doing the channel scan. I really don't need to trim my list because I never watch Live TV, I record everything I watch.

I usually go through and remove the Spanish stations just so that I don't accidentally record the Spanish version of Shrek.
