So my friend messaged me tonight asking me about this piece of hardware because he needs a DVR and doesn't want to pay TiVOs subscription. http://www.amazon.com/Viewtv-Converter- ... nk20850-20 Little did he know how much I know about this topic. So have any of you set up a family member or friend with a LinHES box? What hardware did you choose? Has it been rock steady or is it a service nightmare? Did you build an all in one box or did you separate the two? I have been using a OSMC Raspberry Pi in the bedroom and it plays back great. Is there a SFF computer that is hands down the easiest to implement LinHES on? How are the Intel video drivers now days? My hardware is old really old but it still works so I still use it. I don't have much experience with new stuff. I started down the road of compiling a list for him and I started to wonder if it would just be easier to suggest something not MythTV. He isn't a tinkerer or a hacker but he isn't stupid. Your thoughts? |
