Not sure where to start I upgraded from 8.3 to 8.4 via pacman and now having high loads with the backend keeps restarting.I disabled upnp on startups of the back and front ends, with no luck. The loads go high after this happens systemd-coredump.

dmesg:
Code:
[  253.060905] traps: mythbackend[19236] trap int3 ip:7fc9c39958e0 sp:7fc72dc3abb0 error:0
[  271.593645] systemd-coredump[19237]: Coredump of 2682 (mythbackend) is larger than configured processing limit, refusing.
[  469.955563] traps: mythbackend[30884] trap int3 ip:7f56c19d08e0 sp:7f542b435bb0 error:0
[  488.972540] systemd-coredump[30885]: Coredump of 19895 (mythbackend) is larger than configured processing limit, refusing.
[  688.377931] traps: mythbackend[10241] trap int3 ip:7f9b85ecc8e0 sp:7f98f042fbb0 error:0
[  713.019057] systemd-coredump[10242]: Coredump of 31428 (mythbackend) is larger than configured processing limit, refusing.

my top:
Code:
top - 14:41:55 up 12 min,  1 user,  load average: 195.36, 146.64, 74.33

Huh after fixing my remote config(copied old lircd.conf back to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf.d/ and renaming /etc/lircrc_maysomething to /etc/lirrc) and restarting remotes. my load went way down and no more core dumps or restarting of the backend and my remote works. I just got to work on zoneminder and kodi issues.

top now:
Code:
top - 15:55:10 up  1:26,  1 user,  load average: 0.20, 0.38, 14.01

You can avoid having to move the lirc files in the future by creating your own custom remote template: http://linhes.org/projects/linhes/wiki/ ... -Templates

Thanks brfransen. I will do that in the future. The funny thing on this upgrade I didn't realize it at the time I was doing a major upgrade. I haven't touched the machine for over a year and yesterday I had some time and decided to run pacman -Syu for the hell of it. I hope I didn't screw up anything else(all is running though and setup converted the database on startup) because I didn't shutdown mythtv. I should have looked at the wiki first.

Good to hear. Most of the prep steps before the actually update are preventative. There should be an automated backup and as long as mythbackend wasn't do anything to the db at the time of the update the next startup of mythtv-setup should do as you experienced and update the db.
