LinHES 8.4.2, and I assume earlier versions, helpfully install some Xymon doco, like http://$IP/xymon/help/howtograph.html

...but there are gaps in it. e.g. it tells you how to write a script, but not what to do to get xymon to start logging it
(kill xymon? /home/xymon/server/bin/xymon 127.0.0.1 "magical command").

There are also other differences like ~xymon vs /home/xymon.

Is there better/newer doco somewhere? Especially LinHES specific? Or should I just start hacking.

Xymon lives in /home/xymon/. Take a look at http://cgit.linhes.org/linhes_pkgbuild/ ... 8131597fcc to see how the HDD temp module was hooked up.
