A few months back, my old PVR250 remote died and I decided to purchase an Ortek Vista remote. I removed the PVR250 card from the box and deleted the tuner from setup. The new remote is working fine but recently my box has started getting wonky and requiring restarts. This morning I took a look and found that my /dev/sda1 is 100% full. Looking further I see that the remote.log file is 500MB. Rebooting seems to clear the log out. Before rebootig, remote.log is full of

Code:
 Sat Oct 27 11:06:22 EDT 2018 --- run started
====== lirc modules already loaded ==========
====== lirc modules end =========

Disable in kernel remote driver

The final lines repeat over and over. I am guessing it is still looking for the PVR 250 remote.

My googling tells me that the ORTEK is seen as a USB keyboard and doesn't need LIRC. (True???) The LINHES menu does not seem to have a no remote option. How do I tell LIRC to stop looking (or just not start Lirc)?

Thanks for any help (as always).

FWIW if that thing gives you too much trouble you can still find used StreamZap remotes on ebay for $20 with the receiver and they work right out of the box.

Changed the remote to "No Remote" and the log has been good ever since.

Thanks for the help.
