I have a working Linhes 7 installation that I installed as a standalone system. I want to upgrade to a much larger hard drive and I'm thinking that it would make sense to install it as a backend + frontend so that I can use my Macbook Pro as another frontend system. The standalone install was very simple. What are the steps for a backend/frontend system? Do I have to do two installs? Once for the backend and another for the frontend on the same system? |

The install for a MBE + FE is very simple When doing the install, when you get to the screen asks to select the system type. Change the combo box to say MBE and then check the box that says "run Frontend". Thats about all there is to it. The rest proceeds just like a standalone system. When it's time to install a FE only system. The procedure is the same select a Frontend only system from the combobox, and then select the mysql server. If your lucky it will be prepopulated with the info for your MBE, otherwise you have to type it in. |
