A Dell Precision 370 was outfitted with LH 6.02. I tested all the serial ports (Streamzap remote), keyboard, & mouse. I uploaded a test video and that ran well. Plugged headphones into front and rear headphone ports to confirm sound. LH works well.

The video capture card arrived later and I just tried to install it. The problem is the keyboard malfunctions when I install the video capture card (PVR-150). The malfunction is that the arrow keys and alt-x does not work. The only key that works is the F2, which toggles the verbose feedback screen.

Remove the PVR-150, reboot and keyboard can be used to navigate the menus again. Tested PCI slots 3&4 with the same results. I don't think that I can configure the DVR \ capture without the keyboard: I need to get to the Alt-S menu to configure the PVR-150.

My understanding is that this hardware is Tier 1. If you have seen this problem before please comment.

The last line item is the PVR-150.

Tried my Lenovo wireless keyboard (known to work with my primary box), but no joy.

Does the keyboard work in BIOS? When you get the boot screen there is a line that says press____ for options. In the options I believe there is a "safe mode" . The only thing I can think of is old school IRQ interrupts. Is there an ir blaster on the 150 it might be sending out a bunch of ir noise. My streamzap reciever has an led on the top that blinks whenever it sees any remote. What does ot do with the card in?

I've reinstalled R6.02 and then installed R6.04 in the hope that the problem would be resolved. No joy.

@mattbatt: yes the keyboard does work in BIOS. In fact, the keyboard does work, only when I press F2 to put it in verbose mode. In this mode, I can see the typed characters on the screen. This leads me to believe communication between the keyboard and the kernel is OK.

I removed the Streamzap receiver to ensure that it is not a problem. I find it ironic (and irratating) the WinTV-PVR-150 26582 LF is the final component of the system and seems to goober up, what is otherwise a perfectly working system.

mihanson has solved this problem:

Add this snippet to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Code:
Section "ServerFlags"
      Option "AutoAddDevices" "False"
EndSection

This particular variant of the PVR-150 is a known troublemaker:

Hopefully, someone will comment on what this snippet does any any potential 'gotchas'. I do not know what this configuration snippet does \ controls
