Post subject:  been out for 6 months, but want back in
so WOW cable went digital and my myth box has been down for about 6 months. I bought a serial ir blaster and have a spare dta box.

basically if i download the new version of knoppmyth (linhes i guess?) and hook up my box to my pimary tuner (pvr 350) and restrict the chanels of the 150 to the analog stations (2-20) will the ir blaster be plug and play durring install?

basically im looking for advice on where i might get hung up before i continue.

also looking into that $250 silicondust tuner box, looks fancy. but that'll be a later upgrade along with hdmi output and a larger hard drive

installation is stuck at 9% doing the 0.24 fixes... I knew I shoudlnt have told it to do updates, that NEVER works

so here's what I dont get... why doesnt R7.1 work on my system? I'm going to need it when I upgrade to a silicondust pro and a DVI or HDMI video output card and a larger hard drive

also... how does this work now? I need the 350 locked to chanel 3, but the channel commands sent to the com1 ir blaster.... is it auto matic or do i have to fiddle with some config files?

I believe that the PVR350 tv out support was drop from mythtv around .22. It might work with the first R6 that still have .21 but probably not after that. If you could add a video card with tv out that supported other hardware acceleration you could probably get by. I have one 8400 running vdpau through tv out. Sadly I bought a second identical card cause I new it just worked but the second card never did work with tv out.

in mythtv-setup under #4 input connections -> tuner you enter 3 in the "preset tuner" box and put the path to your channel changer script in "external changer command" box.

You may also have to add [startup] {ivtv-tune -c 3} to /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps as per http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16725

but the dta doesnt have composite out
