I've upgraded from R5.5 to R6.01, now trying to make my way eventually up to 7.1, but have hit a stumbling block because nowhere on the system is the upgrade_to_0.22.sh script.

I followed the steps outlined in Upgrade LinHES from KnoppMyth and upgraded to R6.01 as per the instruction at the bottom of that page. Then I jumped over to Upgrade LinHES and after reading the whole page I followed the instructions at the bottom under "LinHES R6.02.00" making the assumption that I am "upgrading from a previous version" ie. upgrading from 6.01.

However there's no upgrade_to_0.22.sh to be found.

Now I'm wondering if what I should do, after the upgrade from R5.5 to R6.01, is "just select "Upgrade LinHES" from the Service Menu" as described at the top of Upgrade LinHES, then go with the steps under "LinHES R6.02.00".

It looks like I've misunderstood part of the process, and if anyone could shed some light on the best way to get from R5.5 to R7.1 I would be grateful.

I also tried doing a fresh install of R6.01 to a VirtualBox to see if upgrade_to_0.22.sh turned up... but it didn't. So I'm pretty sure I'm not doing the upgrade sequence correctly.

Most grateful for any clarification.

I am on 6.04. On my system that script is located in "/usr/LH/bin". Probably worth looking there if you haven't already...

Thanks Marc. That's a help, as I can confirm the script isn't there.

I VirtualBox-ed 6.02 and did find it in /usr/LH/bin which seems to confirm I'm going the wrong way about the upgrade sequence.

Scotty.

After taking a step back and actually having a think about it I've got it sorted.

upgrade_to_0.22.sh isn't supposed to be installed with R6.01, it's getting the linhes-scripts that installs it. But because the R6 repo has moved and the R6.01 /etc/pacman.conf points to the current (now R7) repo, doing pacman -Sy linhes-scripts gets the R7-ified scripts which don't include upgrade_to_0.22.sh.

Solution: After doing the upgrade from R5.5 to R6.01, change pacman.conf to point to the R6 repo. This is mentioned in the upgrade instructions for R6.03 which of course is historically correct, but for retroactive upgrades it should be done on R6.01.
