a clean install with a backend+frontend(asus eeebox).

most of the stuff seems to work; mythtv(dvbt tuner on backend), mythvideo(surround via hdmi), mythgallery.
in the setup when testing the sound it works finefor all 5 channels.

but... mythmusic does not want to go along.
i can add a few songs to the playlist and press P (or is it ctrl+P?) for playbut nothing happens.
it says "now playing xxx" but a red dot is showing in front of the actual song. cant see no timer or anything changing on the scren.. just static.

Im not sure how to trouble shoot this.

I've noticed mythmusic doing this recently. I have to exit and re-start mythmusic to play music after selecting it.

Well, that doesn't have any effect on my system unfortunately.
what does the red dot mean anyway? its located on the right edge beside the first song in the playlist. does it mean that the song is "active/playing" or that it is paused or stopped?

I cant even find any logs produced by mythmusic. I guess I have to start there. Anyone that could point out where to find any logs?
or must I enable logging somehow?

I did choose 7.4 installing since it is a 32bit system.. is it advisable to upgrade to latest 8.x? (to be able to get better support)
I thought that was only for 64bit systems exclusively, but maybe it works just fine on 32bit systems too?

In the MythMusic settings there is a selection for the audio device. Since you have sound in other parts of Myth make sure it is set to default.

MythMusic logs to the mythfrontend log.

R8 is 64bit only.
