Hi, I'm trying to setup 8.1 correctly on an older box that needs the legacy nvidia drivers. I've downloaded the drivers from nvidia, but can't figure out how to turn off the X server temporarily so that I can execute the installation. Probably something simple that I just don't know. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance! |

Thanks to cesman on the irc channel. sudo sv stop frontend was what I needed! |
