I have been running 8.2 on the test repo for that last couple of months. Today I ran a pacman -Syu, which performed a both a myth and a kernel update. After reboot, the system fails to start up with the following message:

Code:
ERROR: device 'UUID=<myUuid>' not found, skip fsck.
ERROR: Unable to find root device
You are being dropped to a recovery shell
Type 'exit' to try and continue booting
sh:  cant't access tty: job control turned off

At this point the the system does not have a working keyboard. I am able to to cd boot into 8.1.1 and mount my root 8.2 drive. I know I need to configure something at this point, but at this not sure exactly what.

When you boot up it checks \etc\fstab to see which UUID drive is your boot drive.

You can find the UUID of your drive with this command

Code:
blkid

Then change the UUID for you boot drive

The devs posted that "testing" was going to be unstable again now that 8.2 has been released.

The UUID is correct...
Removed the UUID altogether from the fstab and replaced it with devine instead: /dev/sda1

Rebooted, the exact same error about UUID again.

Going to burn an official 8.2 iso and see if an upgrade will work.

What did you do to recover from this problem? I'm having the same issue with an R8.2 to R8.3 upgrade.

I've started another thread here.
