I am testing a Streamzap receiver \ remote pair (new Duracells 1.6V) by pushing the navigation buttons on the remote and looking for a response on the screen menu. The red LED on the receiver blinks when a remote key is pressed. My readings in the forum suggest that just because the LED on the receiver blinks, this does not mean that your batteries are strong enough (very counter-intuitive). This is why I document the voltage of the new batteries. New batteries should be the first troubleshooting step.
I tested the remote at a distance of 6 inches at various angles as suggested by
this article.
I think that the command below demonstrates that system sees the receiver:
Code:
[root@mythtv]# lsusb

[root@mythtv]# dmesg | grep -i Streamzap
lirc_streamzap[-1]: Streamzap, Inc. Streamzap Remote Control on usb4:2 attached

Are there any other commands that can be used to troubleshoot? Thanks.
