I'm having an unusual (I hope it's not unique) riddle here. I am recording the Today show for my wife and 2 hours of the Today show are a generic title and description. I am using a pinnacle PCTV HD (800i) pci card this card has a digital and analog tuner. They are separate tuners and are loaded into mythtv two separate cards. Problem one: Mythtv is recording the HD and the SD version of the today show. Since the title is generic and they are technically on different channels it is doing what it has been told to do "record anytime on any channel". I could fix this particular scenario by telling it to only record on the HD channel, but I would like to be able to fix this for whatever generic show title might pop up. Problem two: Since MythTv thinks that there are two tuners it schedules two recordings the analog comes out as snow. How can I make MythTv know that only one of these two tuners can work at one time? Thank you to all the knowledgeable people out there. |

I use two of these cards, and since I'm OTA...I never defined the analog tuner to Myth. Do you NEED the analog side? If yes, then you must apply rules to your recording to select specific channels and not record from ANY channel. (I believe that the Analog channel would get the priority.) That's probably easiest. If no, then delete all the tuners and just add the Digital ones. |

Here is the answer I was looking for http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-12.html Input Groups, Awesome, Great, Amazing........ crap how do I make an input group I'll go poke around some more on the internets and figure it out. BTW I found that answer searching on Gossamer threads for PCTV HD and listing the answers by chronological order. It came back as 2% Relative I think it should be at least 10%! |
