Hi People,

I was wondering if anyone has had good luck with an IR blaster other than serial (would prefer USB)? If possible I was looking for a two channel model - I was thinking maybe a MCE blaster. I am looking for something that is standard in LinHes if possible.

I was looking through the available blasters in the LinHes setup and noticed that the MCE blaster has two channels. I have just a couple questions.

Do they work fairly good (is anyone using them)?

Are they all the same (can I buy them from anywhere), or could someone recommend one that they are using and had good luck with.

Thanks,

Paul

MCE blaster works great. All you need to do is include the lircd.conf files for the devices that you want to control in lircd.conf and you should be sweet. I have 1 blaster on my TV and one on my amplifier. I press 1 button on the MCE remote and it turns both of them on. Another button and they both go off. My volume and mute controls are blasted through to the amplifier too.

I was so impressed I bought 3. One for my frontend (which I use to control the power and volume on the tv) and another spare.

There seems to ve different styles of receiver. Mine all look like this: I dont know if the others work as well:

Not all of them come with 2 ir transmitter modules.
