Hi, I did have a Dragon 1+ which is now dead :<( ( A box which is plugged into the phone system--dsl, and the cable system via pci cards, and the power system, has a rough life when lightning strikes. This argues for a HD Homerun + wireless, or free mobo etc.) Looking around I think I will switch to an Intel i3-530. Very low power--unless lots of work needs to be done. (One site spcr measured 30Watts at idle for the whole system.) Integrated graphics currently being worked on for mythtv, which should be good for more than HD tv. I may have to use my Nvidia 6200 pci-e card until Intel HD graphics work with mythtv. It seems the developers will do like the devs at XBMC, boxee, VLC, for their future hardware support. Maybe a Gigabyte atx/m atx ; like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128429 around $100 +/- ; firewire, etc. Nvidia is getting out of the chip business; all R&D has stopped for intel and amd. This should be a FE/BE with spare power; no HD stuttering while the tv schedule is updated in the database. Any other ideas? suggestions? Thanks! |
