Post subject:  TeVii S660 USB Receiver - Driver?

Hi!

I recently bought a TeVii S660 USB receiver to receive DVB-S2. It should be running using s2-liplianin drivers, but if i install an actual version, all i get is unknown symbols when the driver tries to load :(

I downloaded and installed the drivers like this:

Code:
hg clone http://mercurial.intuxication.org/hg/s2-liplianin
cd s2-liplianin
make menuconfig
[deselect Firedtv/Floppydtv and save .config]
make rminstall
make
make install
reboot

Does anybody have this receiver up and running using LinHES 6.04.00 ? Which driver, how compiled and installed?

Thanks!

Regards, Jan

I tried a few further things yesterday...

I built a 2.6.38 kernel from www.kernel.org, wich is actually running in LinHES 6.04.00, but i was not able to compile s2-liplianin with it and the kernel itself did not recognize the receiver. To compile the kernel, I copied the .config of the old 2.6.28 kernel and confirmed every further question during

Code:
make oldconfig

with the standard option - maybe that was the fault, but my time was rare yesterday and experiments were limited by a constantly breaking down internet connection of the hotel I'm in this week :(

Next try was a fresh install of LinHES 7.00.02 - and it recognizes the receiver, but misses the firmware! Giving it the firmware caused it to run - when the vmware usb redirection into the vm ran... But it looked quite good!

If I got some time this evening, i will copy the kernel .config of LinHES 7.00.02 to my LinHes 6.04.00 vm and try to compile the 2.6.38 kernel with this as a base, maybe than my LinHES 6.04.00 is able to recognize the receiver...

Does anybody have another tip for me what to try?

Thanks!

Regards,

Jan

I have recompiled kernel 2.6.38 using the .config of LinHES 7.00.02 in LinHES 6.04.00 and it's running. Attaching the TeVii S660 box, lsusb only shows

Code:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 9022:d660

In LinHES 7.00.02 the product name appears after this row and only the firmware-file is needed...

Back to LinHES 6.04.00 to compile s2-liplianin ... Compiling module pd-main brings error

Code:
/myth/src/s2-liplianin/v4l/pd-main.c: In function 'poseidon_probe':
/myth/src/s2-liplianin/v4l/pd-main.c:459: error: 'struct usb_device' has no member named 'autosuspend_delay'
make[3]: *** [/myth/src/s2-liplianin/v4l/pd-main.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/myth/src/new/linux/2.6.38'
make[1]: *** [default] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/myth/src/s2-liplianin/v4l'

Anybody an idea??

Thank you!

Allright, talking to myself :(

I compiled kernel 2.6.38 on my real box but am stucking with nvidia driver installation.

Following https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA#Alternate_install:_custom_kernel gives me missing dependencies:

Code:
[lueddich@mythtv nvidia]$ makepkg -ci
==> Making package: nvidia-2.6.38 260.19.44-1 i686 (Fri Mar 25 12:10:54 CET 2011)
==> Checking Runtime Dependencies...
==> Missing Dependencies:
  -> kernel26>=2.6.37
  -> nvidia-utils=260.19.44
==> Checking Buildtime Dependencies...
==> Missing Dependencies:
  -> kernel26-headers>=2.6.37
  -> kernel26-headers<2.6.38
==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies.

I think, I have to wait vor LinHES 7...

If anybody has another idea, I'll appreciate...

Thanks!

Just edit your v4l/.config and set TLG2300=n

Hello 2of1,

sorry, I am a little late with my response - I didn't see your post :?: :?:

Could you explain your post a little? With which kernel version in which system should I set this and what should I do next?

Thank you!
