Post subject:  HdHomerun Config Gui & Digital Lineup

After some recent conversation about the cable provider WOW! moving from analogue to digital transmission I set out to change one of my HDHomerun units to record the new digital signals.

After some messing around on the Windows side it appears that the HDHomerun unit can tune to the channels, and I am able to watch (using Windows VLC) each of the stations.

I have set the HdHomerun unit Input to WOW! digital from Schedule Direct and try to "fetch" the channel lineup, but that did not work. So I did a scan for qam256. I can now see a few channels, but the lineup numbers are wrong (easy fix with mythweb).

I would like to use the hdhomerun config gui (hdhomerun_config_gui) to verify that all channels can be tuned and watched in MythTv, but I don't seem to have it on my backend. How do I install the config gui in arch (http://www.silicondust.com/support/hdhomerun/downloads/linux/)?

After that point, what would be the best approach to makes sure the HdHomerun unit is correctly setup for the digital lineup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Or you could download the windows version of hdhomerun config gui. and added benefit of allowing you to watch live tv on that machine. I usually use the second input for this and make sure that it won't be needed to record as I recall that caused a problem with the recording.

I don't know about a packaged version, but building the gui client from SiliconDust's source bundles is trivial. There may be a PKGBUILD file available if you look in "the usual place" (http://linhes.org/repo/src_packages/core-testing/) but I didn't see one just now.

OBTW - Here is the Linux download page for the SiliconDust stuff.http://www.silicondust.com/support/hdhomerun/downloads/linux/
