SD just announced that they will have the HDHomeRun Prime available for Pre-order soon http://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/prime/
The big deal is that it now supports Cable Card. The mythtvcast guys interviewed one of hte founders of SD on episode 29

I wish I could afford one.

Its an interesting device. This device will have the same behavior as recording from the firewire port of a Motorola DCT-6200, as described here.

The Prime is working very well for me. I had been thinking lately my knoppmyth box was becoming obsolete with the limited amount of content I could get. This opened everything right back up. Actually, more than I ever got before. +1 on the HDHomeRun Prime.

bode77, did the hdhomerun Prime work with LINHES 604 out of the box, or were special tweaks required?

Pretty much out of the box. This is my first experience with the Silicone Dust type boxes so I can't say if it's different than previous versions. The Prime requires a .24 or .24-fixes. I am running 7.00.3 so that isn't an issue. I don't know about 6.0.4.

Setup was essentially getting a cable card and having it activated. I use Comcast and there are good instructions on the net. I used the instructions given by a reviewer on Amazon.

For the LinHes setup, I followed this guide:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Configuring_MythTV_for_the_HDHomeRun_Prime

All three tuners work. I get almost every channel available in HD except the pay channels like HBO. As I said I am very happy with the Prime and would definitely recommend it.

The only issue I have is very infrequently I get some kind of buffer failure and the LiveTV will kick me back to the main menu. Is this the Prime or my box or 7.00.3? I don't know. I haven't had time to really work with it and it hasn't been a big enough issue for me to make time to look into it.

I assume then they allowed you to do a self-install of the cablecard? How much is the rental on the cable card?

Thx for the info.
